Project Introduction

It’s a game that allows children to find corresponding vegetables and fruits by coding. By changing the location of the robot, teachers can easily adjust the game difficulty in order to adapt to children of different ages and levels. In the process of playing, children need to plan routes for robots and coding, which can effectively exercise children's thinking ability. Children can also learn more about fruits and vegetables and the advantages of adding more fruits and vegetables to their daily meals. That’s how Matatalab combines coding games with daily life.

How to play

3-4

Interact with children by helping them recognize different fruits and vegetables, and ask children to choose their favorite one. Then guide them to find the corresponding fruit or vegetable sticker and place the sticker randomly on the map. The teachers then let MatataBot face the fruit and vegetable sticker while keeping 2-3 squares away from it. After that, invite children to code together. Let MatataBot reach the fruit or vegetable sticker by placing 2-3 move forward blocks after pressing the start button. During this process, teachers can encourage children to actively participate in placing blocks through language guidance and action demonstration and let the kids enjoy it.

4-5

Interact with children by helping them recognize different fruits and vegetables. Invite children to choose one favorite color card, then find out corresponding fruit and vegetable stickers of the same color(at least two different fruit and vegetable stickers). Put the fruit and vegetable stickers in different positions on the map, then let MatataBot face one fruit or vegetable sticker and place it 2-3 squares away. After that, invite children to code together. By placing 2-3 move forward blocks, let MatataBot reach the first fruit or vegetable sticker. If the children find it's easy to do so, add turn left/right block to let children enter another route to reach the second sticker.

5-6

Interact with children by helping them recognize different fruits and vegetables. Invite children to choose one favorite color card, then find out corresponding fruit and vegetable stickers of the same color(at least two different fruit and vegetable stickers). Put the fruit and vegetable stickers in different positions on the map, then let MatataBot face a random direction. Invite children to find one sticker with a turn left/right block while encouraging them to introduce their favorite fruit and vegetable to the teachers. The teachers can encourage children to use different coding blocks, including move forward, move backward, and turn left/right blocks to develop new routes while looking for the next fruit and vegetable sticker. If they complete the task easily, invite them to plan route independently to reach the location of two fruit and vegetable stickers at once.
